Contact patients offering them a choice of admission dates and agree with them the date of admission in line with the Patient Access

Create a waiting list entry for patients requiring admission

Schedule patient appointments ensuring patients are fully booked on CRS and ensure a confirmation letter is sent

Book patients in order of clinical urgency priority and chronological order

Book procedures, ensuring that clinic capacity is proactively and efficiently used

Act on clinic outcome forms for pre-operative assessment clinics

Ensure that any diagnostics and investigation results that have been communicated from the urology team are responded to according to Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) and that the scheduled process reflects this information

Proactively manage pathway to avoid breach targets and take steps to resolve any issues

Use 18 weeks referral to treatment (RTT) rules knowledge to manage all elective patient journeys

Identify and report any issues to the relevant manager that compromise delivery of the 18 week RTT pathway, e.g. lack of capacity for surgery

To deal with telephone enquires in an empathetic and productive manner, taking appropriate action to ensure high customer service

Support the investigation of patient DNAs and deferrals, communicating the results to the Consultants/clinical team and service as appropriate, updating waitlists

Communicate the details of any cancellations to the Clinician and relevant service

Ensure trust systems are updated with patient pathway status information and that data quality is maintained

Use Trust IT systems and databases to ensure relevant and appropriate patient information is entered and Input data onto CRS in accordance with departmental policy and procedure
